July is Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) Awareness Month, which is also Sarcoma Awareness Month, with July 15th being LMS Awareness Day. LMS is a rare soft tissue sarcoma that can develop in several parts of the body. It is estimated that LMS accounts for 7-11% of all soft tissue sarcomas. It is unpredictable and resistant to treatment. I've started this fundraising page because this is very near and dear to my heart. In July 2023, I was diagnosed with retroperitoneal LMS (the irony is not lost on me) so, along with celebrating my birthday this month, I'm raising awareness with the hopes that more treatment options are researched and become available.
