Edna Pearl Hall Courson passed away on January 24, 2024 after a five year battle with Leiomyosarcoma.

Edna was a devoted wife to John for over sixty years -  he was the love of  her life.  She was an incredible and loving mother to Laura Lynne, Susan, Johnny, and Matthew.  She was a beloved “Giegee” to seven grandchildren (Kristen, Bren, Nick, Emily, Wil, Ellie, and Sloane) who were the lights of her life.   She was a cherished sister and a much-loved aunt to scores of nieces and nephews.   After being diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma in 2018,  she moved into warrior mode and bravely fought this tenacious disease.  In her final hours in Hospice care, she surprised her family with one last set of instructions and a request.  Edna told her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren to be good to each other and to take care of each other.  Everyone in the room said yes, and she then said “promise.”   Each person in the room then individually responded with “promise.”  That her final request was to make sure her family continued to love and to take care of each other truly sums up the beautiful essence of Edna.
